My research was on roofs and paints. I found a green roofs to be the most interesting one. A good example of a working Retrofit green roof is 401 Richmond Street. Retrofit is usually the garden type of roof that allows anyone to enjoy the scenery. Although it does take some maintenance, it saves about 20 percent or more on energy cost. There are many more benefits of green roofs, such as quality of air, insulation, more green space, possible local food production, the list goes on.
