Joanna's footprint

After I took the footprint quiz I find out I used up to 4 planet to provide enough resources, and I also created 17.6 tons of carbon dioxide to support my lifestyle. I would like to change my lifestyle in order to help the earth. I will try to recycle as much as I can and try to save more enough when I do not need to use it. I know if I'm the only one that doing it won't make much change, therefore I will also ask my family and friends to help save the earth =]

Stephanie's footprint

My current lifestyle will need 4.6 Planet Earths to maintain with. In order to reduce my ecological footprint, I would like to change my lifestyle and use as few global resources as I can.

One of the problems is I have been driving a lot after I got my driver license. I will start helping the planet out by driving less.
To make this work, I will travel more with public transit and also get more people on the car whenever I drive since I tended to drive alone.

global footprint - Terry (tae yoon) Park

this is my global footprint, I would need around 5 mother earth for me!
Food and shelter sections are take most of my foot print, that is understandable since I live in condominium therefore I do not really care about hydro usage. To decrease my global foot print i should turn off all the light, try to cut down some more time in front of computer whenever i dont need them also try eat more vegetable instead of meats.

My Footprint - Caitlin Russell

My ecological footprint came to 3.3 planet earth's, and 15.8 tons of carbon dioxide.  I also tried out the Zero Footprint calculator, which had more detailed questions, and that came to 12.9 tons of CO2, so both results are fairly close.
To reduce my footprint, I can buy more goods using recycled materials, and less packaging.

Alexandra's Footprint

Apparently if everyone lived with my life style, there would be need for 4.6 planet earths. I had a feeling it would be high, however not this high. I knew that living in the suburbs would take a toll on the overall result, and by the looks of the pie chart; almost a quarter is taken up by shelter. I realize a smaller house would be more energy efficient however, with the grounds that my family does own, my dad has established our entire backyard, front yard and boulevard into a vast garden with over 10 mature, mostly carnivorous, trees amongst it. No grass or need to mow grass at my home. I probably could reduce the amount of magazines I buy, and perhaps subscribe to the Globe and Mail online rather than in print each day. I already take transit to and from school everyday, and usually to work as well, however yes ever so often I do take car rides, however I always carpool, and I mean hey I live in the suburbs, things are even further away then they seem.

Alek's Ecological Footprint

I need to stop eating deliciously meat and protein filled meals and then the world will be a better place apparently. :(

Or maybe, if everyone combined their knowledge and together devised a faster and more efficient way to make animals grow, then the amount of Earth's required for my lifestyle would be greatly reduced. I must question the accuracy of this quiz, as I was only given the option to pick what meat I eat and not how I prepare my meals (example poultry, and they had a nice fat filled deep fried and breaded chicken leg shown) however I actually stay completely away from this, and stick to lean chicken ham mainly, which requires much less energy to produce/cook.

I make tones of sandwiches so I'm sure I'm saving tones of energy.

Jandy's Footprint.

Hi, my footprint came out like this. 3.3 earth.... hm i guess it is because of the airplane that i take every summer for going back to korea, which is 13h per once!
i got shocked because i recycle every moment i throw out my garbage and i save lights or water. and i don't eat much !

i guess ... i need to try not to use my computer too much?

My Footprint

This is my Footprint. To improve it I think I should buy more local foods, recycle more, and really need to cut down on buying electronic gadgets.

My footprint! - Anna Sun

Hi, I'm Anna S from the section 5 class. This is my ecological footprint, and one way i can decrease it is i think walking as much as possible. I usually take subway or bus and since i bought ttc metro pass i take subway or bus even it is just one station away. I don't have a bicycle so walking is good for me =)

My Footprint

To decrease my footprint I could reduce the animal products I eat by half, but I already eat very few animal products. Or I could try to buy products that use less packaging or only use 100% recycled materials.

My Footprint

Things I want to commit to in order for me to decrease my footprint is…
- use the transit more and walk
- keep recycling
- try to buy products with less packaging and support products that use biodegradable packaging

I personally do not think I can become a vegetarian or not eat meat. But I do support animal rights, even though some animals are meant to be eaten, I believe they deserve better treatment. One more thing to add to the list is to remind others and spread the word to other people that they have a responsibility to help reduce our global footprint.

My Toeprint - and how do I edit my comments, anyone?

The "stuff" that there is too much of is US. The object should be to decrease the world's population, to erase footprints, not to simply shrink them. Less people = less footprints.

My Ecological Footprint

Wow! I like to think that my 'footprint' isn't as big as the results show. I actually walk or bike to most places in Toronto so I think the results are calculated incorrectly when they ask about the personal transportation.

If you are squinting at the screen capture, the results show that it would take 5.5 planet Earths to provide enough resources to cover my needs and 24.5 global acres to support my lifestyle.

To reduce my footprint, I would have to review what is creating the biggest impact in terms of transportation services. I don't have a car and I've used a cab on 3 different occassions. That's it so I'm unclear as to what is driving up my footprint!

Global Footprint - Kaylyn Frecker

One way I could reduce my global footprint is to take a local vacation instead of going to the Caribbean, or I could just use solar panels for the electricity to my apartment.
